I've finally put the 9 patch on the machine and have stiched in the ditch (mostly) along the horizontal. I'm starting the vertical tonight. I will not SID but will go about .25 or.5 inches away from the seams. I'll decide before starting.

New craft love
My lovely hubby got me a sewing machine for Valentine's day and I've been bit by the quilting bug. I've sewn together 3 quilt tops and made 2 into quilts. I'm working on the 3rd.

Updates
It's been forever and a day since I've been on here. I really should do this more often. Anyway, I have started on three other shawls for my 10 in 2010- Ene's Shawl, Shetland Lace triangel and an Ember's Embrace. None of which are picture worthy right now.
In regards to my reading challenge. I have made huge strides as I have finished thirty-eight books so far for 2010. I am well on my way to my goal of 200! I hope I can keep up the pace and meet my goal!!!

The New Year so far
Well, this year has started out with a bang. I completed a couple of book within a couple of books in a few days but haven't finished another since then. I will try to finish at least three books this holiday weekend. I did finish a shawl in the mean while. I finished my Colonnade. I can't say I like it and have promised it to another woman. I think I used the incorrect yarn for it but I'm sticking to yarn from my stash and it was there.
I'll block it this weekend and gift it on Monday. On the needles, I have a Shetland Lace triangle and an Ember's Embrace shawl. Both shawls are using stash yarn; SLT is using some Caron Simply Soft and the Ember's Embrace is using Knit Picks Gloss DK. I'm gifting both of those as well. I love knitting shawls and have committed to the 10 shawls in 2010 but I only have one set of shoulders, so there will be a lot of gifting. :)
I'll post pics of those shawls as soon as I have enough to post.

My Reading Goals for 2010
So I have links for the challenges I want to met this coming year posted on the page but I realize it is not clear what I actually plan on accomplishing this upcoming year. I have set my goal for book read this upcoming year to two hundred books, including rereads. I though it would be easier to accomplish if I have mini challenges to assist with the big number. So I joined the below challenges- Winter, First in a series and complete that series as helpful milestones to that big number. I am a major serial reader and though these would help me greatly.

This is an opportunity for you to finish all of those series that have been sitting on your book shelf looking at you. I don't know about you but I have quite a few. With this challenge you count series completed, not books read. I have a series with 20 books in it, although I'm not sure I'll include this one, it doesn't matter how many books are in the series or if you've read most of them and only have one or two left to read. The object of this challenge is to finish the series.
Challenge Guidelines:

8. Codex Alera- Jim Butcher- I have the whole series of six books to read.
9. I'll leave this space for as of yet undiscovered series
10. I'll leave this space for as of yet undiscovered series

Lastly, I want to participate in the second reading challenge. I am an author hog, if I find an author I like, I'll read everything they have. However, if I don't enjoy the first three chapters, I generally put it down and won't read anything else you wrote. This will be a good time for me to go back and revisit previously discarded authors. Additionally, I can count some of my books from the series wrap up challenge.

The great thing about this challenge is that it's not just for your second in a series books, but the second time you've read an author as well. This encourages you to give authors another try if you haven't liked the book you've read or simply another excuse to read a book by an author you loved.
