Much to long!!!

I have been very bad in makin frequent posts. So many things have happen since the last time I posted. I have been extremely busy at work. I am preparing for my first trial! I am so nervous but what will be, will be. I have beenn traveling and will be doing quite a bit more in the coming months!

This past weekend, I went to a knitting retreat in my home state. My home state's group on Ravelry decided that we were too spread out across the state and wanted to get together to hang out for longer than a few hours. So one of the members proposed a weekend getaway where we would all hang out, knit, and shop. We had so much fun! I also learned a new technique- toe up socks on circular needles. I generally make my socks on dpns and cuff down so this was quite different. I am so happy to have the opportunity to meet everyone and see all the beautiful items they are crafting. We are hoping to conduct a second one this fall.

Additionally, as a result of this past weekend, I will be teaching my first every knitting class! It was rather unexpected. I was working on my Lady Eleanor this weekend and everyone admired it. On of the ladies present was the librarian who hosts my local sit n' knit and she later asked me if I would teach the technique to a group of people. Well, blow me down! Of course, I will not be teaching the Lady E. due to copyright issues but there are more than enough free entrelac patterns that all class participants can access to learn the technique on.

I am just honored and humbled to be asked to teach the class. I have only been knitting a little over a year and many of the knitters are much more experienced knitters than I. I just hope I can convey the technique accurately. Wish me luck!

New beginnings

I now have time and to get some knitting done. I have finished one of the Ash Cable Socks and have began on the other. I love them and I can't wait until I am finished so that I can wear them.

I have also begun knitting another stole- Lady Eleanor in Scarf Style. I love it and it is knitting up so quickly. I did all this while getting my hair braided. I did not work on it the entire time but for a few hours then my shoulders started to hurt. I am loving entrelac. I may even make another one of these for someone for christmas. We will see.

Giants Won!!!!

Oh my goodness, I am so happy right now. Eli pulled it out and won!!!!

I have not gotten much knitting done lately. Mostly due to my job and life. I realize now that I got a lot of knitting done during football season because my BF watches football all day on Sat. and Sunday so I would knit and watch during the games. Now that football season is over, I can only hope that basketball games are also on Sat. and Sundays as well. If not, my son starts soccer soon so I expect to get some knitting time done during practices.

What has happened?!!

I began the new year with so much hope and excitement about all the knitting I would get done this year. However, I have not been able to knit ANYTHING. I think I have done maybe three rows of knitting this whole month. I am behind in the Spring Shawl Surprise and Secret of the Stole II starts tomorrow. I hate that! I have been so busy with work and life that I have not been able to knit anything at all. Hopefully, the rest of the month will not be as busy but I doubt that.

UGHHH!

Ok, maybe I am just overthinking this or rather not properly reading the instructions. I was hoping to begin my first pair of toe up socks today but for some reason I just can not get the project started! I have tried the figure 8 cast on --- three times!!! Each time I missed up some how. I became so frustrated with that method that I found some other ways and they did not work as all. I think I just need to take a break from those before I break my dpns. I will try again tomorrow. I think I will start on my Spring Shawl Surprise. I know that I will get the first five rows right because it is just garter stitch. I will post pics as soon as I have anything worth showing!!!
